In accordance with related document of China Education Department and Inner Mongolia Provincial Education Department, international students must purchase insurance during their staying in china since 2007. IMNU strictly execute the relevant provisions, and purchase the comprehensive insurance for qualified international students with free of charge.
Ⅰ. Brief Introduction to Comprehensive Insurance
The Comprehensive Insurance for Foreigners Staying in China of Ping An Annuity Insurance Company, Ltd. is the only insurance product recommended by China Education Department. The insurance and protection scheme includes the following aspects:
1. To participate in conditions:
International students: international students in China in healthy condition from 6 to 69 are eligible to this policy.
2. Insurance coverage:
Ping An shall undertake the following insurance liabilities during the period of insurance (Insurance period: from the valid date of policy to the end of the insurance period)
(1) Death insurance
(2) Accidental disability insurance
(3) Medical Insurance for Accidental Injury
(4) Outpatient and Emergency Medical Insurance(partial)
(5) Hospitalization and Medical Insurance Note: ‘Insurance Liabilities’, ‘items of Note’, ‘Liability Exemption’ and other details and regulations are accessible to AnnexⅠ. If any dispute arises concerning the contents mentioned above, the Chinese interpretation of ‘Brief Introduction to (Effective since August 25, 2015) Comprehensive Insurance & Protection Scheme for Foreigners Staying in China of Ping An Annuity Insurance Company, Ltd.’ shall prevail.

Ⅱ. How to purchase the comprehensive insurance
IMNU will purchase the comprehensive insurance for all international students who are qualified.
1. IMNU freely offers one-semester-long insurance to scholarship students or those self-supporters who pay more than one semester tuition fee.
2. Others who pay less than one semester or late for group purchasing should buy by themselves.
3. Insurance participation divided into autumn and spring period.
Ⅲ How to use the comprehensive insurance
1. If international students get sick or accidents happened to them, they shall go to nearby the public hospitals.
The insurance company employs such an insurance claim that payment comes after expenses, therefore, when the international students get sick or some accidents happened to them, they should go to the public hospitals established within the border of the Chinese mainland to get medical treatment and get refund with qualified documents in the International Student office of IEC after cure.
2. Document to be presented for settlement of claims:
A. Copy of passport and visa page of the Insured
B. The number of the bank card, the name of the bank and bank account
C. All of hospital documents which include original receipt and detailed expenditure sheet for hospitalization (if hospitalization is necessary)
D. Medical record, detailed expenditure sheet and copy of examination report and laboratory test report of each respective treatment
E. Copy of valid insurance certificate
F. Course and certificate of accident. In case of traffic accident, the traffic unit should issue a liability confirmation of traffic accident (if there is an accident)
Note: Details of standard procedures of death or major accident and advanced payment of medical expense for hospitalization are accessible to Annex Ⅱ. If any dispute arises concerning the contents mentioned above, the Chinese interpretation of ‘Claim Guide (Effective since August 25, 2015) of Ping An Annuity Insurance Company, Ltd.’ shall prevail.

Because insurance purchase will last the whole first month of every semester the international students may be told their comprehensive insurance is not valid yet. Please don’t be panic and go to the hospital after medical guidance. The company and the university agreed to the effective date 25th of August and February. That means the students can get refund with the help of the teacher from International Student Office even their treatment take place during the first month.
